Rondo Retreat Centre - A Christian sanctuary for Nature lovers in the Kakamega Rain Forest

Rondo Retreat belongs to the Trinity Fellowship, a Christian society committed to communication and conservation. Communicating the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ to all people everywhere; and conserving the earth and its resources to meet needs in the world.

Here at Rondo, in this Garden of God, permeated by the prayers of His people over many years, may you move beyond Nature to the God of Nature, encountering the Great Creator Himself.

Today this peaceful place has been “opened to the public” and is run by the Reverend and Mrs. Godfrey and Elisabeth Dawkins. They invite you to take time from the rush of your busy life to come and contemplate – nature, yourself, the world, the work of God…

Funds and personnel permitting, Rondo related projects include: Community Outreach, Environmental Education, Eco-Tourism, and Regenerative Agro Forestry.

Birds of the Forest

As soon as you grace the Kakamega Rainforest, you are greeted by an assortment of harmonious bird sounds. A main activity for our visitors is bird watching, given that the majority of the species of birds in the Rainforest cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Enjoy a selection of photos of the rare species of birds you can expect to hear or spot in the forest.

The Kakamega Rainforest is a place filled with unique and beautiful life forms, just waiting to amaze visitors of the Rondo Retreat Centre. Enjoy a selection of uniquely adapted mammals, like monkeys, as well as butterflies, snakes and others.
