Mount Longonot | USD
Mt. Longonot rises to a height of around 2780 meters (9100 feet), is covered in trees, and has a solitary steam vent to the northeast. From Nairobi, Nakuru, or Naivasha, a day excursion to Mount Longonot is ideal.
It is thought that Mount Longonot, a dormant stratovolcano (a tall conical volcano built up from numerous layers of hardened lava), last erupted in the 1860s.
The Masai word Longonot, which signifies a mountain with many spurs or steep ridges, is where the name Mount Longonot originates.
Just 52 square kilometers make up Mount Longonot National Park, yet the mountain occupies most of that space.
