Located 100 Kilometers from Nairobi, and south of Lake Naivasha, this park has a rich volcanic history as evidenced by cliffs, gorges, lava rock, and caves. Hot springs and geysers bubble up from the earth's surface, a testament to the region's still active volcano. Mt. Longonot, a young volcano that rises a thousand meters above Lake Level, dominates the landscape. It is the only park in Kenya where you can hike and cycle amidst wild animals. This is in addition to rock climbing and a geothermal spa. There are numerous raptors and swifts in the area. The most fascinating bird to see here is the nearly extinct Lammergeyer Vulture, which has been reintroduced to save it from extinction.
